Fall has always been one of my favorite seasons to shop for my kids.
There’s just something about the first cooler mornings, pumpkin patches, fall festivals, Halloween, and finally being able to pull out all of the cozy outfits that makes this time of year feel a little extra special.
But as a mom, I also know there’s another side to dressing kids for fall.
They need to be comfortable.
They need clothes they can actually play in.
And if I’m spending money on an outfit, I want them to be able to wear it more than once.

Fall Kids' Clothing That Still Feels Like Kids' Clothing
One of the things I love most about children's fashion right now is that you don't have to choose between something being cute and something being practical.
For fall, I love finding pieces that kids can wear to school, out to dinner, to the pumpkin patch, or just while running around with their friends.
For the girls, that might mean a cute fall dress or boutique outfit paired with boots or sneakers.
For the boys, I love comfortable fall sets, graphic tees, and seasonal outfits that still let them run around and be kids.
And because we live in North Carolina, where "fall weather" can mean 60 degrees in the morning and 80 degrees by lunchtime, pieces that can easily be layered are always a win.
Halloween Clothes They Can Wear More Than Once
Halloween is especially fun for us.
Some of my favorite pieces every year are the ones with pumpkins, ghosts, fall colors, and fun Halloween designs.
But I also try to pick Halloween outfits for kids that aren't so costume-like that they only get worn once.
I want something your child can wear to school in October, to a Halloween party, to the pumpkin patch, and then probably ask to wear again the next week.
Because if your kids are anything like mine, once they decide they love an outfit, you're going to see it a lot.
And I'm completely okay with that.
Easy Fall Outfits for Busy Families
I think sometimes children's boutiques can make dressing kids look way more complicated than it needs to be.
Most mornings in our house aren't a perfectly styled Instagram photo.
We're trying to get everybody dressed, find somebody's missing shoe, remember what we're supposed to bring that day, and get out the door.
That's why I love outfits that are already easy to put together.
A coordinated set is probably one of the easiest ways to make your child look completely put together without actually having to think about it.
You can also take a favorite boutique top, add a pair of jeans or leggings you already own, and have an entirely different outfit.
That versatility matters to me when I'm buying for my own kids, and it's something I think about constantly when we're choosing what to carry at Bo & Co.
